Opening the Door to Wealth

door to wealthSome people state very clearly that the goal of business is to make money. Others get offended by that and claim that they are in business to help people and to do what they love. What side are you on? Can the door to wealth be opened, so that the two sides come together?

The desire to make money is neither good nor bad in itself. What IS problematic is focusing only on the money: that is like saying “I want to get to New York” without having any idea how to get there. The result, too often, is that the journey is bittersweet. [Read more...]

Are your thoughts all tangled up?

SeaweedI’m often intrigued by seaweed, shells and other things that wash up onto the beach. Seaweed for me becomes a fascinating bunch of lines and shapes, intermingling with each other. In this case, it reminded me of my thoughts at the time: confused and tangled. (We’re all in that place, sometimes, aren’t we?)

In creating this image, it was a conscious decision to have the seaweed start off the frame and flowing from the top right. Since we read from left to right, that is opposite to the way we normally would expect see the main visual component of the image placed. This creates drama and tension. [Read more...]

Manifesting is a Partnership

Barn WallI was out in country one day last autumn and walked by what at first glance was an old weathered barn. It didn’t particularly capture my interest at first. Barns don’t fascinate me. But I stayed and walked around it, determined not to let my initial negative impressions rule me.

So I started looking. Really looking. At all of what was there – even the little things. Then I started seeing. The barn wall was beautiful. Its lines and cracks were a roadmap of its life. And look here: a wonderful little blade of grass, weathered and dry, peaking out from the dark, old weathered wood of the barn wall, soaking up the sunshine! [Read more...]
