My life has been blessed with an incredible number of opportunities, including a university education which gave me a Bachelors degree in teaching and a Ph.D. in food science and nutrition from McGill University. But life is about more than just school. We are all born with special talents and a mission in life that all our life experiences work together to foster.
For me, it has always been about creativity and communication. My design and communication skills have developed over an interesting and varied background, encompassing teaching, research, Dale Carnegie training, photography, writing, having my own TV show and consulting. My photography appears in highly regarded corporate art collections, including Pratt & Whitney, and Alcan Canada.
The real aim of my photography is self-fulfillment and self-expression. Photography is something that has emerged from somewhere inside my soul. When I photograph a piece of jewelry or some food, I attempt to bring to life its essence and its personality. I want to make it talk!
When I create a personal photo, it is very much a mirror of my soul and an expression of my vision and feelings. My work comes from the heart. It is about light; it is about expressing love without words.
On my photo blog I comment on photos I’ve taken, along with what went on in my head and heart when I shot it, and what I did in Photoshop to create the final image. For me, the creation of each image is an exciting and journey, guided by my heart and soul. I play with light and colors alot, because for me, that’s so much what photography is all about. My aim is not so much to show what something looks like, but what it feels like. It’s about creating a visual message.
